Are you a Big 4 CPA or tax professional with 1-5 years of investment industry tax experience and would like to advance your tax skills and knowledge by working on state and local tax with one of the top hedge funds/alternative asset management firms in the US? This highly recognized global firm based in Boston with $30 billion in AUM, 250+ employees is looking to add two Tax Accountants on the team to focus on State and Local tax. 

The ideal candidate for the role should possess the following characteristics and qualifications:
     Undergraduate degree in accounting or finance
     1-5 years of investment industry tax experience
     Display a positive attitude and acute focus on work product
     Enjoy detailed work and taking initiative
     Strong organizational and problem solving skills
     Intermediate to advanced level MS Office skills, particularly Excel
     Effective and professional communication skills, both oral and written
     Ability to work independently, yet effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented structure
     Ability to demonstrate professional discretion and handle highly confidential information
        Thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with the ability to effectively multi-task and prioritize assigned deliverables
This position is a member of the fourteen person team that manages all aspects of tax compliance and reporting for the firm's multiple entities.  The specific responsibilities of this position will include, but are not limited to:
       Preparation of the federal and state partnership tax return work papers, including estimated and actual taxable income calculations, partner tax allocations, as well as various management reports
       State partnership and nonresident partner withholding tax compliance
       Assist in responding to state tax notices
       Perform investment level tax adjustment analyses related to financial products
       Review tax reporting documents received from lower-tiered pass-through investments including
U.S. filings related to foreign investments
       Maintain and test various company databases and files
        Perform federal and state tax research, including research of relevant tax laws, regulations, and rulings to assist in the proper tax treatment of various topics
       Coordinate and review various tax filings, including tax returns, extensions, client tax estimates
and Schedule K-1’s
        Assist in the completion of tax related administrative tasks including preparation of source data files
